It is super late and I can't sleep. It is approaching 4am, which isnt abnormally late for me, as I am usually up til about this time. But I like to try to go to bed early on Saturday nights, since my Sundays are very hectic at the tables. Unfortunately I am wide awake and could probably start an mtt session right now lol....rigged!!
I did not play much poker after the freeroll today...I decided to take the night off and went out to the movies. I had been wanting to see "Public Enemies," the real life story about the famous 1930's gangster John Dillinger, played by Johnny Depp. I expected that it was going to be pretty good, but it turned out to be Great, and far exceeded my expectations. The acting was excellent, and the cinematography was unique. The cinema was super packed by Harry Potter fans, but it was nice to slip into a half empty theater and watch a really well done flick. (munching on my favorite movie snack = pretzel bites with cheese dip and honey mustard:)
I was going to go to a live home game in Philly that I was invited to, but decided to just head back home and be a nerd. So I ordered in pizza and spent the evening watching training videos on BlueFirePoker.com.
The First PokerCurious REx55 Freeroll today had a great turnout, and I wanted to thank everyone that participated and registered for it fairly. It upsets me that so many non-members and password thieves were able to infiltrate the freeroll and cash for prizes. In fact the player that knocked me out was not a member, although my all in was a 3 way pot, so my bounty went to BDVGame, who also had me beat. You can see the hand posted in XPokerChick's blog. Congrats to BDVGame and to all the winners. I lost my chat for 2 hours today because I was trying to wish all the tables good luck, and apparently that is considered spamming.. sigh.. so I apologize to all the people that stopped by the rail after my chat ban.. I wasn't ignoring you.. they just had me on mute... and thanks for being my voice at this time zimba...lol.. as if you didn't have enough to attend to.
It doesn't surprise me that people post the passwords in other forums or websites. I have been playing long enough to know there is a great deal of negative thinking in poker... tons of criticism, slander, ridicule, berating, arrogance, gread, cheaters, hackers, etc...
ANd its not just in poker. I saw it in the hospital too...There is good and bad in every aspect of life...there is corruption and malice in every societal system...where there is success, there is envy....where there is happiness, there is hatred. Where there is honesty, there are cheats.
In future freerolls, we will come up with a more fool proof way to guarantee the protection of poker curious members, so that they can have a fairer shot at earning the prize money set aside for them.
I suppose I should try to get some sleep at some point...or else I will still be writing this when most of you log in tomorrow morning :P
So.. good night...
Lights out.
