Once I have a decent bankroll, I start investing in tokens and satellites.  I played within my bankroll management and won 3 $26 tokens and one Sat to the Fifty-Fifty.  This is a great way to build your bank with a low buyin tourney.  120 players and 18 gets the $55 entry fee.  Tight/Aggressive worked for this tourney, and I ended up being the chip leader for a while.  What do you think of playing Sats?  X

This time last month I was struggling to win a freeroll, so I can have a bankroll.  I played many tourneys and no success.  Finally at the end of October I was fortunate enough to finally cash in a freebie.  I was sure if I could keep my head and use proper bankroll management, I could get my bank to a confortable amount.  Well I have been doing really well in November.  I have cashed more in November than all of this year.

I think I had to come to terms with a few things

  1. Poker will not make me rich over night
  2. Some people are luckier than others
  3. Take a break when you are running bad or change games
  4. Read, Read, Practice, then Read some more
  5. Don't be afraid to lose
  6. Don't get cocky when you win
  7. Know your skill level and stick with that level till you are sure you are ready for another level
  8. Don't make poker your #1 priority, even if you are a pro, make time for family and friends
  9. Patience is a virtue
  10. You can lead a donkey to the river, but you cannot make them fold

This was a private tourney with one simple rule, All-in or Fold.  It was a fun tourney and I was very patient.  I made it to the final table in last place and just waited for pocket pairs for the most part. I folded AK a few times in hope to use that hand heads up only.  Each time I had big slick, two where all-in in front of me, so I folded and for good reason.  LOL.  Small win, but the KO's where more than the first place payout.  Fun, Fun, Fun.  X

I don't want to beat a dead horse, so I will make this short. I am taking a programming class and I decided to build an application similar to the RNG used in poker. I used a 52 card deck and was able to make the application a 6-table ring. I ran the app for about 8 hours and there are no way as many bad beats as we see online. The data I retrieved with all six players playing every hand to the river was unbelievable. I really don't think the RNG is working as designed online. I am not saying it is rigged, but it can be changed to make certain outcomes on certain hands. Learning programming has really helped me understand how code can be altered to make certain outcomes. Not sure if I can summize a reason the site would want to do this, but I see some crazy stuff online and live. I watched the WSOP and they showed some wild stuff. Live players seem to know how to fold when they are behind though. LOL. X

Nash case worker charged with assault on woman

A 50-year-old Whitakers woman says a Nash County Department of Social Services case worker sexually assaulted her in his office last week.

The woman, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, said she was trying to have her food stamp benefits extended Friday afternoon when her case worker, Cecil Anthony, grabbed her behind and forced his tongue in her mouth.

Nash County deputies served Anthony, 55, on Monday with a criminal summons for assault on a female and gave him a Dec. 3 court date. Based on the allegations, though, authorities said Thursday the charge handed down by the magistrate probably should have been sexual battery.

Nash County Department of Social Services Director Melvia Batts would not comment on the allegations when reached at her office Thursday evening, citing personnel laws. Anthony’s employment status with the county is unknown.

“You should be able to go to Social Services and get what you need without having to deal with stuff like this,” the woman said, weeping as she recalled the altercation. “The way he did that and the way he came on to me made me think this might be a normal thing he does to women.”

The woman said she was meeting with Anthony at his Nashville office to discuss her options when she became emotional about her struggles. Anthony allegedly embraced the woman to comfort her, she said, and after a while she pushed away.

The woman said Anthony stood up, closed the door, grabbed her buttocks and pulled her close to him.

“At this point, I was trying to pull away from him and screaming, 'No, no. You shouldn’t be doing this Mr. Anthony,’” the woman said. “Then he grabbed my neck and shoved his tongue in my mouth.”

When serving a criminal summons issued by a magistrate, authorities do not arrest suspects, deputies said. The woman said she’s staying in a hotel, fearful the case worker might come for her at her home.

“I don’t know what’s going through his mind,” she said. “But I want to put the call out there. I want to know how many other women this might have happened to, and if there are, I want them to step up to the plate and speak out.”

The victim said she met with Social Services officials early this week, and they instructed her to file charges against Anthony.

Well with the help of others, I have a decent bank on Fulltilt again.  I would like to PAY-IT-FORWARD.  This contest is very simple.  The first commentor to this blog that can tell me my favorite food will get $5 on Fulltilt.  I know this is not a hard contest, but you have to be the first to guess correct.  Contest will end on Friday November, 6 2009 @ 7pm.  At that time I will notify the winner and transfer the money. X

Rules:

  • If you already have a bankroll on Fulltilt, give someone else a chance
  • Be courteous to others during this contest
  • Guess as many times as you like
  • Have fun!

UPDATE:  Will give a clue if no one has guessed by 7pm Thursday November 5, 2009.

Congrats to Teene for guessing my favorite food.  I love Lobster.
