After reading the interview posted by Zimba, I decided to find the email address of Thuy and let her know how she has inspired me with her fight with cancer.  She sent me an email back today.  I am glad that she took the time out of her busy life to drop me a few words.  Only other poker player that did this for me was Daniel Negreanu.  His email was very long, but informative.  I like that even though they are very busy people they take the time to answer the email of a low-limit grinder such as myself.  I feel special.  LOL.  X

Email that I sent to Thuy:

Just wanted to drop you a line and say I really enjoyed your interview on Pokercurious.  http://www.pokercurious.com/interviews/view/thuy-doan-interview/.  I am a female player and I know how hard it is to get respect from male players.  You are an inspiration and I am glad you are stronger than the cancer.  Love the pictures of the guys shaving their heads.  Very thoughtful act on their part.  I am a low limit grinder and freeroll player, but hope to some day play in the WSOP.  I live NLHE and I play almost everyday.  I read a lot of poker articles, blogs, forum post and poker books.  Not many good books about online poker, so I mainly read for general strategy, odds and position play.  Hope you have a great day and keep grinding.

Email from Thuy:

Hi Frances, I'm always delighted to hear about women who have a passion for poker. I wish you the best with your journey. My best advice would be to be disciplined, try to spend time around good players, and have fun away from the tables.    Best wishes, Thuy

Been back playing a little poker thanks to a staking partner. I have a little gravy from a KO tourney so I have a small bank besides the staking bank. TY for good people that you meet online. LOL.

Well as the title says "HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN TO QUIT PLAYING A SESSION?" I ran pretty even until a few big hands that doubled me up and I was wandering if I am running good should I stay or go bank and try to double again. I know how variance can entice you to call with AA and get beat to death. LOL. It happens I know, but do you get a feeling that it is coming or no? Bankroll management has to be followed to the letter to keep from going broke, but do you take the chance of keep playing after you have tripled or doubled you buy-in? Thanks in advance for all comments. X

1st HAND:

This is a hand from Rush yesterday. I decided to use my gravy from the KO tourney to get my bank up. I know this was a really bad call, but after the cards where turned up I was hopeful. If I hit a nine I could take down a nice size pot and luckily I did. Now if I had the AA I would be pissed, but imagine two players with aces. I know they talked junk about my call, but I had not seen many pairs and I know this is a poor excuse for the call, but it is called gambling. Now if I had bought in full I would have taken a even bigger pot. After this hand I played a few more and actually limped with AA a few hand later. I won the pot with a bet on the flop and turn, but was not willing to lose my whole amount on the aces.

2ND HAND

In this hand I was on the button and decided to re-raise for the blind steal and got called. He checked the flop giving me a chance to take the lead on the betting. If he would have bet that flop I may have folded, but with the check he let me see the turn on my terms. After the double up I decided to take a break.

I must admit I have been moaning a lot lately. LOL. Well I really should be kicking my own butt. I have really been playing awful lately. No patience and no fold power. Can it be that hard to be consistent? Sure it can. Some days you go to the felts with all intentions of winning and lose. Nothing you can do but play your best every game. Lately I have not been playing my best and finding all sort of excuses as to why. Well no more excuses, I play to win today. GL to all. X

Well normally when I am not getting along with Fulltilt I look for another site to play around on. I remembered I had a few bucks at this site that I won in a freeroll. I have a new laptop, so all the poker clients are still on my old lap, but I did not reinstall all of them on the new lap. Well when searcing for Fullrushpoker download, google pulled up a few items. When the links are clicked they lead to a OOOPS! page. LOL. Further investigations shows that the site is up for sale. WTF? Can I get a refund? LOL. Well I never deposited and only had a few bucks from a freeroll, so no harm no foul. I guess I will just take a little break.

This is the ad I found on the internet.

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1762201

I have 3 domain names for sale. Fullrushpoker.com Fullrushpoker.net and Fullrushpoker.info Fullrushpoker.com and .net are up and running and feature an online Poker room running off of the everleaf gaming network. There are roughly 1400 player accounts with some real money accounts. The poker solution is a turnkey operation so all you have to do is promote the poker room. Payment Processing, Customer support, and tournament creation are all taken care of by the the network. You can also choose to simply buy the domains if you are not looking for an online poker room solution. These domains are in hot demand right now due to Fulltilt Poker introducing their new Patent Pending RushPoker Software. I will sell the domains with the poker client for $50,000.00 or without the Poker client for $30,000.00. These domains are listed elsewhere for sale as well.

Noveltyman

Hello,

Being a small poker room owner myself on the Everleafgaming Network it is very disturbing to know that there are people out there like Dave Brenes who would cheat their customers. I tried Pitbull poker a long time ago before I opened my own poker room only because they had their free 10 dollar promotion. I actually converted that to 20 dollars and never logged back in because the software is so poor. I truly hope for the sake of the online Poker business that the management at Pitbull Poker did not pull another Ultimate bet super user scandal because no matter how small of a site they may be it still effects the whole poker business as a whole. I also hope that Chesterboy and the rest of the prop players involved get the answers they are looking for. I do know over at fullrushpoker I make sure the players are happy at all times and never would we cheat our players. Like I said if these allegations are proven to be true then shame on Pitbull Poker and their entire staff. If they proven to be false then so be it the players have the right to ask and have their questions and concerns answered. Best of luck everyone on and off the felt.

So it appears the site is owned by the guy that made this post.

In this hand I loved the river. Decided to post this hand, because you hear people say, "You never post when you suck out". Well here we go. BTW after the flop I knew the player had a ten and I was hoping to come from behind to win. So that is what people be thinking when they call with next to nothing or knowing they are behind. "Come on RNG give me my ONE TIME!" X

Well not having a big success in poker and decided to go looking for some free poker money for a site I do not have downloaded.  Did a quick Google and found loads of sites that I did not have an account on.  Well the first one I found looked good then I read further and found this:  Please be aware that due to the current legal situation in the USA, we do not accept players currently residing in the USA. This means that we unfortunately cannot allow you to have an account at PokerStrategy.com and ask you to refrain from using our bonus codes.

Well that sucks, cause I love to play poker, but wanted a change.  It is going to be very hard to make new real money accounts on new sites.  Some one tell me what will we do US players, what will we do?  X

Finally broke the "I can't win curse". LOL. Small baby steps from zero to something, so I have finally put one foot foward. I am going to sit on my new winnings, which is very slim pickings, until I build up my bank. Hope the "win a day fairy" sticks around. 7,500 players is a lot to play through.  X

Of course when I was raised, sitting on the porch was part of life.  Now I see people sitting on the porch I assume they don't have cable or internet.  I have both and think this is the main reason I don't sit on the porch.  I have wireless internet connection and still I choose to sit in the house with the AC and big screen TV mumbling something in the background.  I remember sitting on the porch and the conversations of the elders as we swatted mosquitoes, with maybe an old radio playing in the window.  You could hear kids playing under the street lights and the women gossiping after a hard day of working, cleaning, cooking and mothering.  Those where happy go lucky times and I miss them something awful.  X

Sitting on the Porch: Not a Place, But a State of Mind

I have been grinding all this year to be in the 8th month with my Fulltilt account staying at zero.  Taking the Ferugeson challenge is way out of my mind right now.  I grind and grind the freerolls to get my bank up, then I am drawn to the cash tables where I slowly and pain stakingly give it back.  I think the best option for US players now is going to be freerolls like the one we have here.  I got a PM the other day asking about my check withdrawal when I withdrew from Fulltilt.  The first couple went fine, but I had to send in information that the site requested for security.  The next few and I mean few times I withdrew by check, my bank asked a bunch of questions and wanted to put a 7-day hold on the check amount.  Even though I had the checks covered.

Any who,  I am not giving up on online poker.  The poker beast can be tamed.  I have just got to find my niche and always try my best in all tourneys.  In freerolls it is ok to play your "A" game.  Don't fall into the trap of "Oh I can play like a donkey in freerolls and change back to a pro when I spend money."  You should take every game as serious as the next, even if it is free.  The goal is to win, not play bad.  Playing bad can get you only so far in a freeroll.  At some point you will meet players with the skill to succeed in freerolls and they will be gunning for those chips you just built up from crappy play.  Now can you change your play to skill at the drop of a hat or keep playing 27 os out of position cause it is your "lucky hand".

You can find me grinding on Fulltilt as XPOKERCHIC and playing freerolls like it is for a million dollars.  LOL.....X
