The chasing is the main reason I don't play limit holdem. It gives the player a cheap peak at the turn and river. So if on a draw the pot odds will always be ok for a call. I like no limit holdem for many reasons, but the chase is on in that type of game more than before. I have a few examples and I would like to hear your take on the chasers.
- AA vs JJ, Flop K, Q, A, all rainbow. JJ chases for the straight when the ten hits on the river and it did not make a flush, do you still call with AA or fold? Well of course I bet out and had the lead the whole time and I was betting pot each round.
- JJ vs AK, Flop 2, 5, 10, all rainbow. Turn is a 9 still rainbow so no flush options. I have the lead and beat pot each round. River is a King, I bet pot and get pushed all in. Now most of my chip stack is in so I call hoping he has the 9 or 10. Nope called me down to spike the king on the river.
So how do you avoid the chasers? I don't have a clue. LOL. I have pushed all in on the flop and AK still called, even had 22 call all in on a A, J, 10 board and I had QQ. Least to say a deuce came on the turn and river. Very random. LOL. X
